Our History

RIIS was founded in 1998 by noted information technology developer, writer and speaker, Godfrey Nolan.

More Than a Decade of High Quality Deliverables

For over a decade, RIIS has been optimizing Web applications and internal business processes.

Part of our success is contributed to delivering a three-stage process that speeds development in a cost-effective manner. Beyond that we have years of experience tuning internal business processes such as order management and provisioning systems.

A Model for Sustained Growth and Longevity

RIIS has experienced great success and sustained growth because we believe in creating long-term relationships with the right clients instead of chasing down and rushing through every project we encounter.

Despite the economic downturn in recent years, RIIS continues to grow. In 2008, our revenue increased by 400%. We were one of the few companies in Southeastern Michigan increasing our staff to support the addition of new and important clients to our roster.

Our growth and potential was recognized by the State of Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). In March 2009, the MEGA Board of the MEDC awarded RIIS a $1.1 million state tax credit as an incentive to keep the company in Michigan. So we're not going anywhere.

Our Name

Though it serves well as an acronym for "Research Into Internet Systems", we pronounce our company name "reess", as in inspirational photo journalist, Jacob Riis.

Our founder, Godfrey, felt that naming the company after an icon that evoked inspiration was a good start in making RIIS an innovative company where customer needs were met with thought, attention and understanding, not just task delivery.
